The Arlberg Ski Club (SCA)

Founded in 1901, the Arlberg Ski Club is not only the oldest ski club in Austria, with around 7,000 members in forty-four countries it has become one of the largest and most significant such club in the world.

With the many racing successes achieved by SCA members such as Hannes Schneider, Trude Jochum-Beiser, Othmar Schneider, Egon Zimmermann, Karl Schranz or Patrick Ortlieb in world championships and Olympic Games, the SCA enjoys an excellent reputation in the world of sport. The club has been living up to its racing successes with its actively intensive, professional programme for young people.

The continuous growth of the Arlberg Ski Club, even a hundred years after its foundation, is due to a fascination with skiing as a sport and the efforts of its members to nurture the tradition and continuity of the club. Today many people consider it a special honour to be elected a member of the SCA.
